Fasting Instructions for Revitalizing Yourself and
Reversing Diseases

"Here is the sort of
fast I want," God says in the Bible. Fast and "your light will break forth like
morning . . . [and your] healing shall spring forth speedily." (Isaiah
58:6-11)
As the above Bible verse
indicates, God’s counsel advises fasting so that every area of your life will be
free. What a promise! Your spirit, mind, and body are included in this great
prognosis. Fasting, the Great Creator promised, facilitates Divine freedom.
“Your light will break forth like morning . . . [and your] healing shall spring
forth speedily.” Your fast, He declared, will even right your relationship with
Him! So that He can go before you, and the glory, His goodness, will be your
guardian.
How can fasting hold such
promise?
Because irregardless of
culture or religious background, fasting has been universally taught,
prescribed, and practiced to accomplish miraculous healings and spiritual
blessings, includingng people’s hearts to the Divine presence and Holy
Spirit comprised of universal love, sacred harmony, and natural balance.
Hello! My name is Dr. Len
Horowitz. More than twenty years ago I published a scientific report in the
American Journal of School Health on the “Self-care Motivation Model for
Healthy Human Development.” At that time I was a practicing dentist, director of
an alternative medical clinic, and a post-doctoral health science researcher and
faculty member at Harvard University. During the next ten years I received two
additional master’s degrees, one in public health from Harvard, and the other in
health education from Beacon College. I published dozens of scientific reports
in various fields of health and healing. I personally trained more than 30,000

detoxify the body. It brings natural healing by cleansing the body of toxins. It
gives the organs a rest and can help reverse the aging process. By simply
fasting three days a month, you can help rebuild your immune system. You will
help fight off illness and degenerative diseases. Fasting is therefore helpful,
for instance, when you feel a cold, illness, or even depression coming on,
providing you use the right fast.
For instance, depression
is largely associated with blood sugar imbalances and hypoglycemic tendencies.
As a hypoglycemic, every afternoon around three, I typically felt angry and
irritable for no good reason. Likewise, if you feel compelled to grab a
chocolate bar or other sweet snack around this time of the day, you too likely
suffer from hypoglycemic tendencies. A “Green
Harvest” fruit smoothie juice fast for a few days provides a miraculous
solution to this problem.
But in my case, I wanted
to accomplish much more. I wanted to really cleanse my body and purge the toxins
from my liver, bloodstream, and kidneys. I also wanted to boost my “spiritual
anointing.” So after fasting on the old Stanley Burrough’s “Master Cleanser”
fast for nine days (described below) which is great for a general detox program,
I switched to a “Green
Harvest” fruit smoothie fast for another thirty-one days.
The “Green
Harvest” made it far easier to fast without discomfort. It provided the
full array of nutrients I needed from whole raw organic foods blended into a
good tasting powdered formula ideal for fasting, rejuvenation, and weight loss.
I, thus, fasted for a total of forty days using these two fasts. I lost about
fifteen pounds, and fit into my blue jeans that I had as a senior in high school
once again! I felt great, and you will too by following these simple fasting
instructions.
Length of Fasts
In general, from three to
ten day fasts are recommended for health and longevity. It is a scientific fact
that by fasting three days a month, you can extend your life by several years as
well as heal faster along the way. A three day fast helps rid the body of
toxins, a five day fast starts the healing process, and ten day fast should take
care of most problems before they arise. For longer fasts, continue until the
coating on the tongue is clear, your breath is sweet, and you are very hungry.
Fasting Don'ts
- Do not fast on water
alone!
- Don't chew anything,
such as gum or mints. This starts the digestive juices flowing and is harmful
to the system.
- Don't eat junk,
especially during a fast. The last thing you eat will be the next thing you
crave! If you eat a Whopper, you'll want more junk. If you eat veggies, you'll
want something healthy. Our bodies are designed by God to want healthy food,
but by feeding it the wrong things, we deaden the senses to what is right. Our
bodies no longer know what to tell us to eat.
- Do not drink orange or
tomato juice on a fast.
Preparing for a Fast Eat
only raw foods two days before and after the fast, the desired effects may be
ruined by eating cooked foods immediately following a fast.
Begin Your Fast First
thing in the morning drink one eight ounce glass of Clustered Water. This will
aid in your absorption of all nutrients, as well as in cleansing and recreating
cellular structures. 20-30 minutes later, drink one ounce of
OxyAdvantage (previously Body Oxygen) to aid in the detoxifying process.
Take a second eight ounce glass of Clustered Water, on an empty stomach, around
mid afternoon, followed about half-an-hour later by a second ounce of
OxyAdvantage. Be sure that you have not had any juice before taking the
OxyAdvantage.
If you must eat something,
have a slice of watermelon. Always eat watermelon alone. Also fresh apple sauce
made with the skins on and processed in a blender or food processor is
satisfying and won't significantly disrupt your fast. Use bran on your fast. Oat
bran is considered best. This helps cleanse the colon by adding fiber. It is
best to take this at night before going to sleep. Spirulina, also in
Green Harvest, can also be used during a fast. It is loaded with protein
and all the vitamins and minerals the body needs. Dr. Horowitz's
G.I. Flora Pro, which contains psyllium husks, along with soil-based
microorganisms, is also recommended following day three of a fast. This product
helps to reestablish the optimal intestinal microflora for better digestion and
nutrient assimilation.
Enemas
Enemas during a fast are
an absolute must. The enemas during fasting will assist the body in its
cleansing and detoxifying effort by washing out all the toxic wastes from the
alimentary canal. Enemas should be taken at least once, preferably twice a day.
(Upon rising and before going to bed.) One pint to one quart of lukewarm
distilled water is sufficient. Enema bags are available in any drug store.
Water and Juice
Recommendations
Every day drink half your
body weight in ounces of water. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, drink 75
ounces of water a day. Contrary to recent debates, the health science consensus
currently believes that steam distilled water is the best for fasting, while
alkalinized water is the best for maintenance hydration. Many reputable
authorities believe that steam distilled is the only water that actually goes in
and pulls out toxins from the organs. It literally pulls out the mire that gets
caught in the follicles of the colon that breeds disease. You will also find
that drinking distilled water helps curb your appetite, unlike a sweet drink or
juice that causes your body to want more. When on your fast, dilute your pure
juices with steam distilled water. Avoid juices with sweeteners. Again, DO NOT
DRINK ORANGE OR TOMATO JUICE on a fast. The best juices are fresh lemon juice,
cabbage, beet, carrot, celery, grape, and apple juice, as well as green drinks
made in a juicer from leafy green vegetables. These are excellent detoxifiers.
Raw cabbage juice is known to help heal ulcers, cancer, and all colon problems.
However, it must be fresh, not stored. It looses its vitamin U content. For a
powerful aid in rebuilding the immune system, drink Pau d'arco and Echinacea tea
mixed with one-third unsweetened cranberry juice four times a day. Pure
vegetable broth's are also good with no seasonings added. To prepare these
gently boil veggies, including onions and garlic for 30 minutes. Drink 2-3 times
a day. Another excellent juice and broth is three carrots, two stalks of celery,
one turnip, two beets, a half of a head of cabbage, and a quarter of bunch of
parsley, a quarter and a clove of garlic. This could be one of the best juices
on our planet for healing many illnesses. A final fast to consider is old
Stanley Borroughs's "master cleanser." In a gallon of steam distilled water, mix
the juice of five fresh lemons and enough grade B maple syrup to make a tasty
lemonade. Then add one or two teapoons of hot, hot cayenne pepper, of at least
90,000 heat units, to your heat and taste tolerance. This is especially good for
alkalinizing the body and raising body temperature to help resolve infections,
like the flu-type illnesses going around.
Assessing Healthy
Results
These types of fasting
formulas bring the body back to doing what it was designed to do. Accomplishing
the will of God without the hindrances of fatigue, obesity and illness. You
should dramatically see and feel a difference in your health status by day three
of a good fast. Most people, following initial withdrawal from chemical
dependencies (including caffeine and sugar addictions), gain extra energy by day
three. Feeling lighter, freer and energized is commonly experienced along with
improvements in complexion and eye color. These changes just let you know you
are on the return track to optimal health.
Maintenance Diet
After experiencing the
benefits of fasting, always break fasts gently. Lightly steamed veggies in their
broth with whole grain brown rice is one way to break your fast. During the last
days of a lengthy fasts, whole raw organic foods and their products, the best is
